Feeding Squirrels On My Way To Work

A few weeks ago, it occurred to me that I'm not especially fond of mochas. I don't dislike them, exactly - I just don't like them much. I'll take a latte over a mocha any day. This seemed strange to me. I love coffee - a lot. I love espresso - a lot. I love hot chocolate - a lot. So what's wrong with a mocha?

I tried to kill the mystery by reminding myself that not everything that tastes good tastes good with other things that taste good. Still, I know a lot of people who love mochas.

Today, I was craving chocolate-covered espresso beans. (My work group gave me a box of them for my birthday this week.) Then it occurred to me: I love chocolate-covered espresso beans - a lot. So what's wrong with a mocha?

Finally! Our third cache hide - "I can see the Dawghouse from here!" - was approved and published tonight, about an hour ago.

(We were both ready to write to the reviewer and ask what the delay was. I'm glad we didn't.)

At first, I didn't get it. The Church Council loved my meeting minutes. They all praised its thorourghness and detail. (These are the same minutes I threw together in an hour and a half late last night. I'd skipped over places where my notes weren't clear, figuring that my Council members would fill them in with suggested revisions. There were parts of last June's meeting that simply weren't in my thorough minutes.) The Council approved my minutes with no additions or corrections.

Then, after the approval, one Council member thanked me for helping her fill in the details from the meeting. That's when I realized what had happened: No one actually remembered exactly what happened in the meeting two months ago.

I finally finished June's Church Council meeting minutes at 11:01 last night. There was no July meeting, so I had plenty of time to write them - maybe too much time. I have been procrastinating all this time. I have reached burnout on this assignment. Tonight is the August Council meeting. I'd rather be geocaching.

We are still waiting for "I can see the Dawghouse from here!" to be approved.

Last Sunday, Phillip and I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at The Bay, in Ballard. Unlike the earlier movie, this version makes me want to read the book. I am still thinking about various scenes in the movie. I want to see it again.
